I am a licensed clinical psychologist and health service provider with over 12 years of experience. I have trained and/or worked in a broad range of settings and with a variety of psychological problems, including:
Individual, group, and family therapy with college students, veterans, court-ordered individuals, children, adolescents, families, adults and older adults
Psychological and neuropsychological assessment in both outpatient and locked settings
Inpatient psychiatric units at medical centers and psychiatric hospitals
Locked residential programs for individuals with serious mental illness, substance abuse, and/or significant behavior problems
Evaluating individuals brought into an Emergency Department due to safety concerns
Assessing and treating clients in skilled nursing facilities and assisted living facilities
Since 2010, I have focused much of my clinical work in geriatrics, and I greatly enjoy working with older people and their families. I have several years of experience working in skilled nursing facilities, where I performed cognitive evaluations, created behavior plans for residents with dementia, and provided individual and family therapy for a wide range of disorders.
I also work as the Director of Professional Affairs for the Massachusetts Psychological Association. My role there includes advocating for better access to mental health care, serving on behavioral health-related state task forces and working groups, and providing practice-related consultations to other psychologists.
My other professional passion is teaching and training. I spent 4 years as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Psychology Department at the University of New Hampshire. I also created a number of training programs for clinical and non-clinical staff in skilled nursing facilities, and continues to provide conference presentations and continuing education seminars for mental health professionals.
